Detailed Description

Participants heard from the following presenters:

Mim Buchhorn provided an overview of water sensitive open space management, drawing upon examples from Wyong Shire Council.

Dr Mick Battam and David McKechnie (AgEnviro Soluations) presented on the role of soils, plant selection and garden design and irrigation auditing in relation to water efficiency in open space.
Aaron Mitchell, Operations Supervisor, Wyong Shire Council discussed council’s telemetry system to provide a basis for remote control and ‘user pays’ for water and energy use at council’s sportsfieds.

This project has been assisted by the New South Wales Government through its Environmental Trust.
